Passion is Action: Actions Speak Louder Than Words

February 26, 2014

February’s Theme is Love vs Fear

“Passion is to kiss or to hug and to prove that actions speak louder than words.” I chose this quote for a few different reasons. The first was because I was on a mission a few years back that led me to try and help define what passion really is because it is a word I use a lot in my line of expertise. I am passionate about what I do for a living. I feel passion and compassion throughout the facets of my life. So I thought it would be a good idea to delve into that a little bit and see what passion truly is in a relationship. I have to admit that I have learned a lot about that word these past few years. I also picked this quote because I live by the motto actions speak louder than words. It is a saying that helped me both professionally and personally. A lot of times people will open up their mouths and say things with either good or bad intentions and you always have a choice. You can choose to build someone up or break them down with your words and actions. I am not here to say I have hard feelings for people that have said things that have never come to fruition. A lot of times in my business experience, people will say “Oh, we should write a book.“ And in the past, I would get excited with the possibility but then it would never be followed through. The helium gets let out of the balloon and then you realize its not going to happen. I used to take those things personally and I would come down off this emotional roller-coaster and if you hang on every word that someone says then you end up getting disappointed. After realizing what was happening, I decided to trust their actions instead of their words. I wanted to see the proof behind the things of which they spoke. Because that is what true intention is. That is when you know what a person is like.

If you have good intentions and you try to be the best you can be and say the best you can say; positivity flows. Passion is a strong feeling, sometimes a desire; usually related to love. If you truly had chemistry with someone then that passion would be an effect of that love. What I have learned is that true passion comes when you know someone. It is more sincere and real. It is a matter of truly knowing that you would put your life on the line for someone; that you truly care. You must allow that passion to come forward in your life. A kiss or a hug is proof that passion exists. For example, let’s say your child is at school and you are going to pick him up. When you first see him, do your eyes light up? Do you embrace him and tell him you love him? That is passion. But you don’t have to be a mother to understand passion. You can attain it with anyone in your life that you love. Actions do speak louder than words.

Here is another example: Did you ever share a glance with a loved-one from across the room? Their eyes and facial movements speak to you, without saying a single word. If you follow that up with a kiss or a hug or just holding hands, then you are speaking through your actions and saying to that person: I love you.

As I have written about in past inspirations, why not let your guard down? Why not set that free if you are at a point in your relationship where it matters. In relationships, you have to work together to bring out the best in each other, to keep each other inspired and to grow together. If you have gone through the first few stages of relationships (as I have mentioned in earlier blog-posts) where you really do care about another person, then surely show through your actions that you truly love that person. And if you are not in a romantic relationship you can still show loved-ones your passion for them by the things you do for them. It could be a simple wink or a sweet lullaby before bedtime, but it is still passion. Passion is defined by your actions.

The whole idea behind actions speak louder than words is that there is a balance to that. If it is something that is meant to happen, there will be enough inspiration that you will want to follow through. Both parties in a relationship will want to put action behind those words. Everyone is different and things do change. Whatever the reason is, it is not worth riding an emotional roller-coaster. Take what people say in stride. Look to see that their actions give truth to their words. If it is meant to be, then it will happen. This is a standard in all kids of relationships, whether business, family, etc.

Since we are in the month of February, lets take a look at love relationships. A lot of times when your relationship is new, words are spoken and if you take them to heart and that is not what the person is truly like, you may end up getting hurt in the process. Especially in men, they want to WOW women on their dates by saying things they think she wants to hear. It’s almost like a job interview where you are trying to impress. I am not saying that women don’t do it too, but it is more prominent in men. Be aware of your loved-one’s words, don’t write them on your heart until you see proof of that passion through his or her actions.

Why would a person do everything in their power to keep a relationship that may not be worth it? Every situation is different and it may not always work out. Sometimes those two people don’t mesh well and you will see that the passion isn’t there. If you see that there is no future with a certain person, and they are not worthy of your passion, then you need to move on. It will be painful at first but you have to experience love at least once in your life. It is more than worth it. When a person is able to show you passion through their actions and their words then they have earned a priority spot in your life. He or she care about you; you like having him or her around.

All of these things take time in relationships. Healthy chemistry can build and you can sow your passion through actions and intimacy. But first, it takes time to get to know a person for who they truly are and watch how they truly act. There are many questions you ask in relationships. For instance, do we get along? Do we mesh well? Are we strong enough to stand the test of time? Can I live without him or her? Take time to see the proof behind each other’s actions. Is it passion? Are their passions louder than ever? Do their actions inspire passion in you? Passion is using action to display love and affection. Passion is action. And actions do speak louder than words. Think about the love you have with someone today. Do something to inspire passion in him or her. InJoy your day!
