Greater Joy-Less Stress and What is Stress Anyway?

May 29, 2013

How can you achieve a state of greater joy in your life?  What if I said it really equates to having less stress, worry, fear or doubt?  If that is so, then how do you accomplish it?  How can you have it in your life on a regular basis?  What is stress and Where exactly does stress come from?

Consider, for a moment, the most frequent thing you do throughout your day.  If you are anything like me, then you have a lot of contact with other people; people with whom you have some sort of relationship.  It is all of those relationships and your views on them that will make or break your joy; increase or decrease your level of stress.

When you think about relationships, you naturally think of those you have with other people.  Did you know that you also have relationships with your experiences in life, and how you perceive them in your mind?  Good or bad mindsets about your life experiences will make or break the level of joy you have in your life.  It can create stress in your life, or completely eliminate it.  So it is really up to you and how you choose to think, if you want less stress or greater joy in your life.

Our bodies as human beings are equipped to handle stress to the degree of it being a crisis situation.  A situation in which we have an emergency – that is how frequently our bodies are created to experience stress.  We are not equipped to handle stress every day, all day long.  It ends up taking a major toll on our bodies; on the cells of our bodies.  The ‘stress zone’ we enter as we face emergencies, when our bodies go into a ‘fight or flight’ response, is there as a precaution to help us when a serious or significant thing is happening.  But the rest of the time, stress just wears our bodies down.  The cells of our bodies deteriorate more rapidly because of the high level of stress we put on the cells in our bodies.

The high levels of stress we endure also age us quicker, and cause illness and disease in our bodies more frequently.  If we trace back to where stress comes from, we will find that it is not a reaction to life but rather a reaction to our thoughts about life.  It’s our thoughts about our relationships and circumstances; where we think we should or should not be; how a person should or should not be acting that creates stress in us.  So by learning what I am teaching here, you should be able to decrease stress and increase your level of joy as you shift your perspective or perception of yourself, others and the various circumstances of your life.

As you read some different articles I write, work with me one-on-one, or maybe buy one of my available teaching products on-line, you will find that I look at different ways you can increase joy and decrease stress.  I often give you specific exercises, information and ways of viewing these things that will help you have a permanent and profound change in your life.  Ultimately, if you decide to join me on this journey, you will notice that each day, as the weeks and months go by, you are happier than you’ve ever been, and you are more joyful and less stressed than you’ve ever been.

I encourage you to begin looking at ways of changing your relationship perceptions, so you may decrease stress and increase your joy.  If you need any help doing so, please feel free to call or email me.  I look forward to taking this journey to less stress and greater joy with you.  Thanks for reading, and have a great day!
