Growing Your Mind

September 09, 2014

What determines our intelligence?

Researchers have found that our intelligence can actually be changed. Our brain is alot like a muscle. We can grow our muscles by going into a gym, doing exercises, and straining our muscles. We don’t do things that are easy on our muscles, we do things that the muscles have to struggle and strain with. By doing this the muscles rebuild themselves and come back stronger. The exact same thing is seen regarding the brain. As we struggle to learn, to converse, to do new things our brains grow and become stronger. We become more “intelligent.”

The brain grows the most when we struggle and get something wrong. To get smarter we must review why we got something wrong and process the information.

The more we use our brain, the stronger it gets.
