How to Use the Power of Subconscious Mind to Succeed

How to Use the Power of Subconscious Mind to Succeed

March 21, 2019

The subconscious mind. A part of our mind that we will never be able to muster into a physical and easily understandable form but a part that exists nonetheless. In fact, 90% of our brains are made from it.

90% of our brains? That’s a huge amount of untapped power. So, what if we could harness this power into something amazing? Something like succeeding at whatever we put our minds to? Today, we’ll explore how to do just that.

Define Your Goals

If you don’t believe that you can get 100% on your upcoming test or ace that next job interview, then it’s already physically and mentally impossible for you to do it. If you say to yourself, ‘I’m going to start my own business’, what’s stopping you?

The first step in harnessing your subconscious mind is giving it goals and targets. You need to let that 90% of the brain now exactly what you want and how you want to get it. Write these goals down on a piece of paper, put a note on your phone or however, you feel is best to get it into your head.

Robert K. Benson, a psychology writer for dissertation writing, continues, “You know your mind and body better than anyone else on the planet. Really listen to yourself and use the best methods of visualising your goals that you know will work for you.”

Work Backwards

The human subconscious, unbeknownst to some, actually makes decisions before we even realise it. One study by Soon et al., show that participants were asked to pull a lever with either their left or right hand.

Their brain activity was monitored, and after a while, researchers could accurately predict which hand was going to pull the lever, even before the subject did.

So, if our subconscious minds already know what we are going to do, if we are to start at this point on our road to success, then all we have to do is work backwards to where we are now, and we’ll know exactly how to succeed.

If you don’t know how to move the goal and work backwards, trust your subconscious; it’s what it’s there for! Research, carried out by Voss and Paller in 2009, found that what we call intuition is actually our brain accessing our memory banks in our subconscious to make logical choices. Trust it; it’s what got you to where you are today.

Be Proactive

If you want to get stronger muscles, you exercise and work on them until they start to improve. It’s the same for your subconscious. Let’s say your goal is to get a new job. If you don’t feel confident, use a resume builder, such as Resumention, and really work on developing your skills within your resume.

Then visualise yourself getting that job in every moment until you send off that resume. Then you know that you’ll have put everything you can into the successful resume. Be proactive in your ventures, and you’ll be sure to succeed.

Relax & Find the Work-Life Balance

The brain is a muscle, leading me to say it’s safe to say that your subconscious is a part of that muscle. When you’ve finished working out, it’s essential that you relax those muscles, so they repair to be stronger than they were before. The same for the brain.

When you’re so highly motivated to reach your goals and your dreams, it’s easy to dedicate yourself 24/7. However, it’s important that you find time to relax and revive your energy.

Imagine you were a writer, much like the ones found at UK Top Writers or Best Australian Writers. There’s so much pressure to be the best at what you do that it can so easily lead you to ‘burning out’. Much like these writers, you need time to breathe, relax, put your feet up, say a prayer or meditate, allowing your brain to restore itself. What do you do to relax?
