“Great minds must be ready not only to take opportunities, but to make them.” –Colton
A few years ago, the book and DVD called “The Secret” had a huge impact on many people. The modern presentation, largely based on Wallace Wattles’ 1910 best seller the Science of Getting Rich, which in turn was based on the Hindu philosophies that One is All, and that All is One, has educated today’s generation on a concept that has been around and recognized by some of the greatest minds in history, including Einstein.
The Secret explains in detail a universal law referred to as The Law of Attraction. Many books in the past have addressed The Law of Attraction but none were marketed in such a way as to create as much interest as The Secret has. In simple terms, The Secret teaches the reader that your thoughts are very powerful, as if they have magnetic energy. When you think a thought repetitively it then has even more energy. If there is an emotion, like belief, associated with the thought, it then has even more energy. All of this increases the likelihood that the thought will come to fruition. And this brings us back to the word ‘attraction,’ the event being thought of will be attracted to you (i.e. more likely to happen). If you are like many others who have read The Secret, you may be thinking “well that is great, so all I have to do is think about something over and over, add belief, and it will happen!”
I am sorry to say, but the answer is “no.” As we live here on earth, there does exist the buffer of time. A thought does not instantly manifest into form. Along those same lines, a thought will not manifest into form without your action.
The first step is deciding what you truly want. The second is taking the time to get specific and clear as to the details of what you want. When you truly want something in life there will automatically be a positive emotion associated with it, so be aware of the good feeling and allow it to get very strong. The next step is to be aware of opportunities that come into your life which are conducive to what you want so you can act upon them. The final step is to follow the inspiration within you to take action (inspiration is always present when a person has a desire for something they truly want).
So… to create the circumstances of the life that you desire and deserve, be ready to not only take opportunities, but make them if need be.
