All your thoughts and feelings are energy, and energy is vibration. Learn to Raise those Vibrations and watch your life change dramatically.
1. Find something beautiful and appreciate it. Beauty is all around us, from the morning dew to the evening stars and everything in between. Most go through life not noticing all the beautiful things that are around them, and yes it’s every where, so take the time to notice them, and appreciate them when you see it. Whether it’s the scent of a flower or the way rain ripples in puddles of water, appreciate the beauty life has to offer.

“There is nothing you can learn from as much as a problem you cannot fully solve. Unsolved problems can be some of the greatest tormentors, but also the greatest teachers. Unsolved problems keep the mind hungry and the eyes open.” –Jonathan Zap
When it comes down to it, the universe is a baffling place. There is perhaps nothing more baffling than the fact that there’s even a universe to be baffled by. How many universes are there? Some scientists claim the answer could be anything between zero (this universe is an illusion) and infinity (multiverse). Nobody really knows the answer. And yet, the more we know, the more fascinating everything seems. The more baffling the question, the more exhilaration we feel. It’s the unanswered questions that pull us forward and bring a sense of the spiritual to the task of figuring things out.

Even though films like ‘Inception’, ‘Waking Life‘ and more recently, ‘John Dies at the End’ and ‘Now You See Me’ wouldn’t be approachable without assuming the authenticity of unexplainable events, most people, including most scientists, are unaware of the vast abundance of compelling scientific evidence for psychic phenomena, which has resulted from over a century of para-psychological research. Thousands of archaeological finds also suggest the use of such phenomenon in prehistoric times.

Happiness is something that we all strive for, yet many of us find it challenging to grasp and even harder to maintain. Especially during these difficult economic times, happiness can feel like it is hiding just behind next week’s paycheck, a new job, or a distant raise. However, as Dr. Robert Putnam of Harvard University recently pointed out, “money alone can buy you happiness, but not much.”(1) It appears that happiness has less to do with money than we might imagine, and more to do with the people around us, how we live our lives, the way spend our time, and how we perceive ourselves and understand our life experiences.
Based on the latest research in psychology and my experience as both a psychologist trying to understand happiness, and as a human being searching for my own happiness, here are 11 ways to live a happier life…that have nothing to do with money!
AMELIA ISLAND – Many people agree a positive mental attitude is the key to success.
But keeping that attitude can be hard for professional athletes, particularly professional golfers, whose game relies on swings as close to perfection as they can get. This is magnified when thousands of people are watching.
Amelia Island hypnotherapist Dawn Grant found out this year how much a golfer’s state of mind can affect his or her game. And since Grant, in her work, seeks to get to the root of negative thinking and uses hypnotic suggestion to break those patterns, she thought she could help.
If Dawn Grant can persuade Vijay Singh to believe he is the world’s greatest putter, chances are she can help you with your golf game.
Grant, who works with golfers through a combination of mental training and hypnotherapy, is in Augusta this week. She has worked with about a dozen players on the PGA and LPGA tours, including Cameron Beckman and Laura Diaz.
Well, I don’t know about you all…
But I’ve reached my spilling over point.
The World is our school (all of ours)
We had a few bullies in the halls,
Their numbers are growing.
WE are afraid to leave our rooms.
How would we handle this if it were happing in our local High School?
What applies on a small scale, works on a large scale.
Consequences must occur, we are humans with egos… It’s in our nature. Without natural, logical consequences our egos will
Forgiveness of Self
Last month, I talked about the virtue of acceptance. I wrote on how to apply it to yourself, your life, others around you, and as a spiritual principle. The reason I am doing this is so that you can have this wisdom and instill it into your life, for the greater evolution of yourself. This month I am looking at forgiveness. This, along with acceptance are two of the most important virtues to begin with if you want to change your life and reach higher levels of consciousness. What I have learned over a decade of private sessions is that forgiveness seems to be at the root of almost every symptom brought forth in my sessions with clients. Even when someone comes in for smoking cessation, it is likely that the root of their problems lies in the need for acceptance and forgiveness. A lot of times, people start smoking at a really young age to feel accepted. That lingers on throughout their lives over the years in the subconscious levels of the mind. I teach them how to accept who they are and forgive their pasts. It is not just my smoking cessation clients though. Practically every ailment in which I aid clients goes back to acceptance and forgiveness. This is the first installment of forgiveness for the month of August.
Acceptance of Higher Power
The past few weeks have been the start of my Living the Virtues Series. I wrote about acceptance of self, others, life, and now I will delve into acceptance of a higher power. At this point, you should be having a pretty good idea of how to implement the basic acceptance-type skills in your life; meaning that looking at others, life, self, and seeing it for what it is. There is a freedom that you get when you have acceptance. This week, I’m writing about the acceptance of a higher power. There are a lot of different beliefs out there. I am not trying to tell you to go out there and buy into one or the other. I am looking at an all-encompassing higher power spiritualism. If you look at the evolution of a spiritual self of a greater wisdom that is within you and around you that channels through you, then acceptance in general is a very positive spiritual evolving way to live your life.
Acceptance of Life
I think that wisdom is passed down over the years through some great quotes. Some quotes have been observed as really crucial towards our perceptions of life. A lot of people understand the information in quotes as essential wisdom and they like to implement it into their lives. Acceptance of Life is probably one of the hardest Virtues to work on, but it is also very rewarding. Learning to accept life and all it’s ups and downs shows wisdom, maturity, and courage. The quote I chose today is from Ida R. Wylie: “We must accept life for what it actually is — a challenge to our quality without which we should never know of what stuff we are made, or grow to our full potential or stature.”
Acceptance of Others
This week in the Living the Virtues Series is Acceptance of Others. Last week I wrote about accepting yourself. If you would like to read that blog post, click here. I pulled the quote for this week from Thomas Merton: “Our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy. That is not our business and, in fact, it is nobody’s business. What we are asked to do is to love, and this love itself will render both ourselves and our neighbors worthy if anything can.”
ACCEPTANCE of Self
Each month, I will be taking a particular virtue and break it down into small life lessons for you. Implementing these virtues into your life will have an amazing affect on you, your consciousness, your health, your spirituality. This first week, I will be blogging about acceptance. Acceptance is the action or process of being received as adequate or suitable. I’d like to go one step further and say that you have kind of “come to terms” with who you are, what you are, the existence around you, etc. Being able to accept the present moment and have the ability to see the uniqueness in every individual is a very important virtue. I will be blogging about acceptance. This first week will pertain to the relationship with yourself, next: your relationship with others, third: relationship with life, finally: relationship with higher power.
