Living the Virtues Series: Humilty with Self

November 01, 2014

Humility with Self

At the conscious level of your mind there are thoughts. Some thoughts are fleeting, some turn into daydreams. Creating an awareness of those thought patterns can help you discern the things that you can change in your life to make it more positive and peaceful. Living the Virtues Series is a blog series that I started earlier this year. Each month, I take a look at a different virtue; how to implement it into your life. I absolutely believe you can attain positive results from using the daily affirmations. The thoughts that are repeated through your conscious mind stick to the subconscious therefore creating new neural pathways and patterns. Humility is the virtue that I have assigned for the month of November. This week, I am writing about humility as it applies to yourself.

taken from THE MIND UNLEASHED on 12th May, 2014

If you drink water throughout the day, you are one step closer to optimal health. Staying hydrated is important whether you are fighting an illness, trying to lose weight, or just need more energy. But even more than simple water, drinking lemon water offers a wide array of benefits.

Lemon water (and fruit-infused water in general), is extremely trendy right now. Sure, they give you a lemon wedge when you order water in a restaurant, but this isn’t the only place you should be drinking the tart and refreshing infusion.

So why should you add lemon water to your daily routine?

Unhealthy Attributes of Stress

October 28, 2014

taken from THE MIND UNLEASHED on 24th October, 2014

Elizabeth Renter, Natural Society | We all know we should lower our stress levels, but it isn’t always easy. Sometimes, though, knowing exactly how stress is affecting us can be highly motivating to take steps that will actually decrease stress in our lives. Whether we do it by spending time in nature, practicing yoga or tai chi, laughing more often, or by unplugging from our computers and smart phones for at least a few hours every day, lowering stress is imperative. Here are 5 reasons why learning how to destress is so important:

Biophotons: Humans are Light

October 28, 2014

taken from THE MIND UNLEASHED on 26th August, 2014

Sayer Ji, GreenMedInfo | Increasingly science agrees with the poetry of direct human experience:  we are more than the atoms and molecules that make up our bodies, but beings of light as well. Biophotons are emitted by the human body, can be released through mental intention, and may modulate fundamental processes within cell-to-cell communication and DNA.

Nothing is more amazing than the highly improbable fact that we exist. We often ignore this fact, oblivious to the reality that instead of something there could be nothing at all, i.e. why is there a universe (poignantly aware of itself through us) and not some void completely unconscious of itself?

Advances in Physics Determine Brain Power

Written By Dr.Kelly Neff

In a talk entitled “The Next 20 Years: How Science Will Revolutionize the Economy, Medicine and Our Way of Life” delivered at Clarke University in Iowa this weekend, world-renowned theoretical physicist Dr, Michio Kaku argued that many of the imagined fantasies from science fiction movies are becoming realities, and we will see even more of this occurring in the next 20 years. According to Kaku, not only are telekinesis, telepathy, and mind control possible, but in all scientific actuality, “they already exist.”

12 Things You Probably Don’t Know About Creativity

October 28, 2014

taken from THE MIND UNLEASHED on 24th October, 2014

Written By Michael Michalko

1. You are creative. The artist is not a special person, each one of us is a special kind of artist. Every one of us is born a creative, spontaneous thinker. The only difference between people who are creative and people who are not is a simple belief. Creative people believe they are creative. People who believe they are not creative, are not. Once you have a particular identity and set of beliefs about yourself, you become interested in seeking out the skills needed to express your identity and beliefs. This is why people who believe they are creative become creative. If you believe you are not creative, then there is no need to learn how to become creative and you don’t. The reality is that believing you are not creative excuses you from trying or attempting anything new. When someone tells you that they are not creative, you are talking to someone who has no interest and will make no effort to be a creative thinker.

Living the Virtues Series: Trust in Life

Trust in Life

How many times have you questioned life? When was the last time you thought: Well, that’s not how it was supposed to go!? Does it seem to you that life has a life of it’s own? Do you wish that things were different? Have you built up resentment towards your life situations? All these negatively displayed thought patterns can hold you back from enjoying life. Life exists around you at all times. What needs to be done is to trust life. Trusting in life means to let go and let life unfold. Now that is not to say that you cannot shape things surrounding life’s extremities, but it means that you know the universe “has your back” so to speak. Learning to trust life is a pretty important virtue. When you step out of all of those times when you stated “Life’s not fair,” and actually take a mature approach, things will unfold for you like never before.

Gearing-Up for Nationals

October 17, 2014

Do you have a specific regime that you do in order to prepare for a big event?  Do you practice more frequently? Do you perform relaxation techniques like meditation or massage therapy? I’d be interested to know how each of you prepare.  There are so many techniques out there and each person had his or her own way of doing things.  What worked for you? What didn’t?

To some of you, clay shooting is an enigma, to others, a way of life.  I have had many clients who dedicate their entire lives to this sport and really enjoy it.  Still, if you are not familiar with clay shooting, here is a short history lesson.  The crafty Brits are responsible for giving us the idea, although, I suppose it could’ve spanned earlier cultures as well, but it wasn’t very popular.  One of the reasons why is that it involved shooting live pigeons.

Living the Virtues Series: Trust in Others

Trust in Others

Did you ever hear the expression: “life is what you make of it?” I find that to be very true. Whatever you display outwardly is how others perceive you. If you go about your day with a frown, chances are good that your frown will be met with another frown and maybe even unkind words. Living a virtuous life is not only tantamount to your overall peace and well being, but it begs for you to look at life from a serene and happy standpoint. Last week, I blogged about trusting in yourself. This is momentous in gaining clarity but also promoting healthy relationships. This week, I delve a little further into trust. Trust in others begins with yourself. I hope you have been practicing your affirmations from last week. Now it’s time to go out and feel what it’s like to trust others. The quote I chose today is from Walter Anderson: “We’re never so vulnerable than when we trust someone – but paradoxically, if we cannot trust, neither can we find love or joy.”

Trust in Self

I picked this quote to share with you today because I feel like it gives you directions on how to trust yourself. So many people don’t learn to trust in self until they are a lot older. This quote is very detailed and specific. It will help you to understand how you learn to trust yourself. “Follow your heart, but be quiet for a while at first. Ask questions, then feel the answer. Learn to trust your heart.”  This quote is an instruction manual. People that are just learning to trust in self really don’t know where to begin. It is looking inward that is one of the most difficult things to accomplish as a human being. Oftentimes when one does develop a deep introspection, trust in self will be discovered.

Living the Virtues Series: Honesty as a Spiritual Principle

Honesty as a Spiritual Principle

Today, I am looking at honesty as a spiritual principle. It can seem so much easier to lie yourself out of a situation. Every person has had that voice inside his or her head at one point in life. If you choose the lie it may seem easier at first. But the reality is it creates a cloud around your life. Honesty is not always easy. Sometimes it will cause hurt, mistrust, stress in relationships, but ultimately it will build honor, integrity and character. These things will truly bring peace in your life. The quote I chose today is from Charles Edward Montague: “A lie will easily get you out of a scrape, and yet, strangely and beautifully, rapture possesses you when you have taken the scrape and left out the lie.” Essentially, what Montague is saying is that even if at first, the lie seems easy, honesty will bring about a greater emotional state and well being.

Honesty with Life

How you view life, differs for every single person. Some people define themselves by the virtues they hold highest in esteem. Some people don’t think that hard and go through life just doing what they think is right. Still, others have preconceived notions that whatever it takes for them to succeed, be it lying, cheating, greed, they’ll do it until their success is eminent. Today, I am blogging about honesty as it applies to your life. Honesty with life is an invaluable virtue. Being able to perceive life as it is and not through rose-colored glasses is difficult. You are unique with how you choose to see the world around you.
